Postnatal Fitness
Once signed off by your GP (usually around 8 weeks), regular exercise will help you physically such as aiding body recovery after childbirth, but also physiologically.
Benefits of exercise in the postnatal period:
Relieves stress
Promotes better sleep
Boosts energy
Prevents postpartum depression
Strengthens & tones muscles
Promotes heathy weight loss
Every class will finish with pelvic floor exercises. The strengthening of these muscles is extremely important for the following reasons:
Improves bladder & bowel control
Treats pelvic organ prolapse
Aids post-birth healing
Encourages enjoyable intercourse
Improves circulation (helping reduce swelling & bruising)
Tip: Even if you have had a cesarean section, pelvic floor exercises are still very important. These muscles have still stretched and weakened during pregnancy.

You should have a postnatal check-up with your GP between 6-8 weeks post birth. This is to make sure you are recovering well and able to return to pre-birth activities like exercise classes.
Once you have had this check-up, you are welcome to book a Bloom postnatal fitness class!

Every week is different so if you have purchased a block booking (4 weeks) or consecutive weeks, you will enjoy a variety of classes.
I will always start with a warm-up and finish with a cool-down, followed by pelvic floor exercises and breath work.
Throughout the class, you will come across a mixture of cardio, light equipment & body weight movements.
Please don’t worry about adjustments you may need, every woman and postnatal journey is different, we will make any appropriate changes to the movements depending on what works for you.

Just bring your mat and a bottle of water!
